Johannesburg, 26 February 2025
The Goldrush Gaming Group, in partnership with Stadium Management South Africa, Live Nation and Gearhouse South Africa is proud to announce the launch one of South Africa’s largest dedicated live entertainment spaces, the Goldrush Dome, which is located in Soccer City Avenue, Nasrec, Johannesburg, on the northwest parking lot of the FNB Stadium.
This state-of-the-art venue, which was completely, designed, manufactured and built in South Africa, is a high-tensile, arched, steel-framed dome with a capacity of over 10,500. It offers over 15,500 square metres of multi-purpose space, and can also be used for, among others, international concerts, conferences, indoor sports events, exhibitions, trade shows, banquets, political rallies and product launches. In total, the Goldrush Dome expects to host an average of 30 events per year.
The launch of the Goldrush Dome will plug a noticeable gap in the Johannesburg region, as the other major events venues in the city can only host a maximum of 1800 people.
Goldrush.co.za Marketing Manager, Peter Amblianities notes that Goldrush is delighted to support this new venture and to have the opportunity to receive naming rights:
“As a renowned South African entertainment entity, the Goldrush Group recognises the importance of the country providing entertainment venues that assist in furthering this goal. Goldrush is therefore proud to be a partner in the launch of the Goldrush Dome and to have our brand attached to this exciting development.
This new venture will undoubtedly create a range of positive outcomes for the local economy, igniting job growth and skills development. Importantly, it will also serve as an important cultural milestone for Gauteng and the larger South African community, invigorating creativity and innovation and promoting South Africa on the global stage.
As one of the premium entertainment providers in Southern Africa, Goldrush is committed to support initiatives that further South Africa’s status as an entertainment destination while simultaneously uplifting South Africans from a socio-economic perspective. The Goldrush Dome will prove pivotal in achieving these aims, as it will help reinvigorate the local economy while providing an outlet for both South African and international entities to collaborate and celebrate in a world-class venue.”, concludes Amblianities.
The first mega event at Goldrush Dome will be Tems from Nigeria on 20 March!
